Retirement of Windows XP and what it means for security

Posted by:

Experts are expecting the amount of malicious attacks directed at Windows XP to drop off for the remainder of this year and early next as the hackers will probably wait until it is officially retired, and therefore no longer receiving security patches or updates, before they launch any attacks.

If you are still relying on Windows XP for your business you should seriously think about upgrading to at least Windows 7 prior to April 8th 2014.

Office 2003 is also being retired on this date and it is worth looking at the later versions of Office at the same time as they offer significant improvements to productivity and stability.
